Decoration Ideas for Your First Anniversary

Year-one couple-pod staging: your wedding film replayed, the same flowers, a single year of memories.
Your first anniversary is that bittersweet moment: a full year wrapped up, and it deserves to be savoured. Not in a crowded restaurant where the waiter interrupts at the best parts, but somewhere that is yours, where you can laugh at your wedding-day mishaps without strangers overhearing, and where the big screen plays your actual memories back to you.
That's what a private couple pod at Rosae becomes on your first-anniversary night. We'll walk you through how to stage it, what works, and why this matters more than you'd think.

The Year-in-Review Montage on the Big Screen
Here's the magic of a big 4K screen: it doesn't just play movies. It plays your story, and it does it with more intimacy than any slideshow running on a laptop ever could.
A month before your booking, start gathering your first-year photos and video clips: the wedding footage (if you have raw files), the honeymoon clips, snippets of everyday moments that don't look like much until they're projected at cinema scale. We're talking the mundane stuff: you laughing at brunch, a phone-video of that surprise you planned, your first holiday, the couch-moving day that ended with you both on the floor.
Ask your videographer if they can splice these into a 15–20 minute montage set to a song that matters to you both. No cheesy transitions needed, just clips, one after another, with maybe a simple title card: "Year One." When it plays on our DREAM or STELLAR screen before your meal arrives, there's nowhere else in the world to be. Time stops.
Pro tip: tell our team about your video on +91 63617 29855 well before your slot; they'll contact you and set it up, so there's zero scrambling on the night.
The Floral Refresh: Your Wedding Flowers, But Better
If you married with white roses or peonies or gardenias, buy the same flowers again, but this time, arrange them for you, not for 200 guests. Decorations and flowers aren't included at Rosae, so bring your own or use a vendor you trust.
Two dozen white roses in a low vase down the centre of the room, or a single large arrangement next to the seats. The smell hits differently when it's quiet. When there's no competing perfume from the woman at the next table. When it's literally just the two of you, breathing it in, remembering how those same flowers smelled at the altar but everything was blur and adrenaline then.
Bring your wedding bouquet, pressed and framed, and prop it up where you can both see it. Others bring candles in the same scent as the church or the venue. The detail is tiny. The impact is massive.
The Recliner Setup: One Year Later, Still Cosy
Our DREAM and STELLAR couple pods come with recliners, so there's room to settle in together without performing for anyone.
Settle into the recliners facing the screen, close enough to turn and talk. Bring a throw blanket, something soft, ideally one you actually use at home so it smells like home, and your own cushion if you like one.
The lighting in our couple pods dims low but doesn't go black; there's enough glow to see each other's faces during the quiet moments. You can order from Rosae's kitchen without stepping out: scan the QR code in the room, pick from the menu, and it's brought to your theatre door. Stay in the moment.
The Cake Moment: Timing It Right
Forget the massive layered thing. A small two-portion cake (or even a pudding, or a tart) ordered from your favourite local baker works better in a private pod. Your own cake is allowed at Rosae.
Here's the timing: watch your montage through, pause for snacks and chat, then cue the cake moment around minute 18. Light a single candle. Play the song from your wedding day. Sing to each other (badly, probably; ours always do, and it's perfect). Cut the cake together using one fork, the way you may or may not have done at the reception.
No one's filming it. No one's watching. You're free to be as sappy or as silly as you want.
A Single Photograph on the Big Screen
Some couples end their video on a single photo from their wedding day and leave it on the screen in the final minutes: the formal shot, or the one where you're both genuinely laughing.
Knowing that image is being held there, filling that entire screen, while the two of you sit in the dark and just look at it... there's a quiet power in that. A year has passed. You made it.
The Playlist Underlay
Build a playlist of songs that matter to your year into your video: your wedding-day song, the one that was stuck in your head on your honeymoon, the track playing the night he/she got the job promotion, the song from that road trip. Keep it as background ambience during the cake moment, the cake-and-chat phase.
It threads everything together without demanding attention. Just there, like a memory humming in the background.

Booking Your First-Anniversary Night
First anniversaries book fast; couples know this is the moment. We recommend booking at least two weeks out, earlier if you're aiming for a weekend slot. Pick an evening slot (4–7 PM or 7–10 PM) so you can head out for a quiet walk or chai afterwards without feeling rushed. Arrive about 15 minutes early.
DREAM is Rs 1,748 per 3-hour slot. STELLAR is Rs 1,848. Add your cake (bring it fresh), flowers (you're sourcing), and maybe a light spread from the kitchen menu. Total might be roughly Rs 2,100–2,700 for the whole night (approximate, depending on what you order).
Pro tip: Book on a weekday evening if you can. The pods are less booked Tuesdays through Thursdays, pricing is identical, and the quietness of a weekday night only adds to the intimacy.
FAQ
Can we bring our own flowers even if we just got married a week ago and already have fresh blooms at home?
Absolutely. Fresh blooms, dried, pressed, whatever feels right. We just ask that florals aren't so large they block the screen view from the seats.
What if our wedding-montage video is 45 minutes long, not 15?
We can run it; just tell the team first on +91 63617 29855 so they can set it up. The room is yours for 3 hours, and you can pause it anytime, hop up, move around, talk, cry, laugh. Treat the screen-time as flexible, not rigid.
We're not big cake people. Can we skip the cake moment?
Yes, totally. Some couples skip the cake and order something small from the kitchen menu instead. Some skip food altogether and focus on the video and the flowers. The evening is yours to shape; we're just holding the space.
Can we invite anyone else (parents, a best friend) to watch with us?
Our couple pods are designed for two, and the whole point is privacy. If you want a small group, we have COMET (up to 6) or FUTURA (up to 7) group rooms, priced from Rs 1,648 for 2 guests plus Rs 250 per extra guest. But most first-anniversary couples tell us the magic is just them, no one else.
Ready for Your Year-One Moment?
Your first anniversary is one year of being married, of learning each other, of showing up. Book a 3-hour private screening at Rosae, replay your wedding film, bring flowers that smelled like the day you said yes, and sit in the dark while everything you've built together plays across the big screen.
It's not a restaurant. It's not a crowded bar. It's the space where the year you've lived together finally gets to be seen, honoured, and celebrated in full.
Book DREAM or STELLAR and let us hold the room while you hold each other.
