Romantic movies to watch together: picks for every mood

A date-night watchlist sorted by mood and language, from easy comedies to films that will have you both reaching for tissues.

Twenty minutes into date night, you are still scrolling. One of you wants to laugh, the other has been saving a film that will wreck you both, and the tea is going cold. The fix is to agree the mood first and choose the film second.

We run private theatre rooms in Koramangala, and picking the film is part of every couple booking. Below are picks by mood and language, one line each. Streaming availability changes, so search the title on your apps first.

Classics

  • Casablanca (1942): old flames meet again in wartime Morocco, in well under two hours.

Watching on a big screen

Romantic films run on small things, a glance or a song arriving on cue, and on a phone those moments compete with notifications.

A private two-seat room at Rosae

If your living room can't do that, you can book one of our rooms at Rosae in Koramangala for a 3-hour slot. Arrive about 15 minutes early and show your booking QR code at the venue. Inside, every room has access to the major OTT platforms, so you can watch anything on them, including any of these films that are streaming there. If you want to play your own video, like a wedding film or a surprise video, tell the team first on +91 63617 29855 and they will contact you to set it up.

For two, CINEPOD PRO has a 4K screen and Dolby sound at Rs 1,397 per slot, and recliner seating starts with PHANTOM at Rs 1,597 (GST included, prices as of 13 September 2026). There are no cameras inside the theatre rooms. Food comes from our kitchen: scan the QR code in the room and it is brought to your door. Outside food isn't allowed, but you can bring a cake. Alcohol is not allowed at Rosae.

Tips for picking a film together

  • Agree on the mood before opening any app; it saves half an hour of scrolling.
  • Take turns. One of you picks tonight and the other picks next time.
  • Check the runtime. Most films fit inside three hours, but Titanic runs longer than that on its own. At Rosae you can extend only if the next slot is free, for a small extra charge of about Rs 200-300 depending on the room.
  • For an anniversary evening, see our anniversary celebration ideas.

Book a room for movie night

Two-person rooms start at Rs 1,097 for three hours, the same price every day. Compare them on the pricing page.
